Today, the books, a significant majority of which have been acquired from the Şevket Rado Collection, along with the manuscripts obtained from different sources over time, constitute an invaluable source of information both in terms of the history of İstanbul and the diverse culture of the vast geography the Ottoman Empire sprawled across.
