'In recent years, projects have been undertaken to increase the quality of living in İstanbul, introduce contemporary media of transportation and add extra value to the city by making the cultural assets emerge in city's everyday life. As a result of these projects, rescue excavations conducted by the İstanbul Archaeological Museums at diverse spots of the city have considerably changed Istanbul's urban history which was based on legends. The most significant work revealing this change is the archaeological rescue excavations held in Yenikapı, Sirkeci and Üsküdar station areas of Marmaray-Metro transportation projects. These excavations made the construction of a contemporary transportation network possible, and at the same time brought the footprints of history to our day.'
