Archaeological evidence indicates that Helios and Sun were more favored in Asia Minor than in mainland Greece. The cult seems to have had to peak periods in the second half of the 4th century BCE and 2nd-3rd centuries BCE. Beside the research into the dispersion of the cult across the country and time, the researcher has also examined the iconography and derived a typology of the images of Helios and Sun compiling a catalogue of 897 artifacts.
