The book published on the occasion of CANAN's exhibition "Behind Mount Qaf" opens with an introductory overview by the exhibition's curator Nazlı Gürlek, followed by newly commissioned essays by writer and curator Kathy Battista, scholar Tuğba Taş and curator Derya Yücel. Named after the legendary Mount Qaf of Arabic and Persian cosmology, the exhibition brings together new works CANAN produced especially for this exhibition along with a number of earlier works, some of which are being shown for the first time ever. The works in the exhibition are produced in various media, such as sculpture, photography, print, embroidery, video, installation, and miniature. Designed by Vahit Tuna, the publication includes full colour images of all exhibited works by photographer Hadiye Cangökçe (reproduction shots) and Murat Germen (exhibition views).
