Larisa. Different Lives - Different Colours

The special occasion of an exhibition, which has united the architecture of the ancient city of Larisa near Menemen-Buruncuk (Izmir) with its excavations, finds, and the recent studies on the site, becomes the topic of this issue. The ongoing fieldworks of the ITU team from 2010 onwards on the site -with permits from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, and the support of ITU- have become visible through an exhibition in the Istanbul Archaeological Museums, and have merged with the institutional competence of the Museum. The ancient finds preserved in the Museum’s collections and the preliminary results of the fieldworks are presented in the Architectural History Series with photographs and drawings, as well as a catalog based on a thematic concept. The related topics are enriched by short, informative texts written by the Museums’s specialists and the team members of the Larisa survey.
